This absurd film is ironically the high grossing sequel to a low-grossing-but-fairly-acclaimed movie 'Deep Impact'. A meteor of enormous size approaches the earth. And the solution they find is to fly to the meteor on a space shuttle, land on it, rig a hole into the meteor and install a nuke deep in it, then expect the meteor to split exactly into two pieces when the nuke detonates and thus avoid the Earth. To add to this absurd game plan are statements like "uncertain gravitational conditions" on the meteor by a NASA professional. And finally the team does land the space shuttles on the meteor, and then takes it off from there and return to earth. Well it seems that laws of physics are not in effect in the Armageddon meteor.
